Curriculum
The 2008 Spring Class sessions run from late-January through early-May every Thursday. The retreat will be held on Thursday/Friday.

vision
for Reno County |
The Leadership Journey begins with participants gathering
to carpool together to the retreat location (to be announced).
During the two-day session, class members will spend time
getting to know one another; will develop a Vision for Reno
County; and will learn about their unique Learning/Working
Styles and the importance of understanding and knowing the
Learning/Working Styles of others.
Session 2:
Thursday, January 31,
8 am to 5 pm
Participants will develop an understanding of the value of
Creative Thinking and Experiential Learning as leadership
skills.
Session 3:
Thursday, February 14,
8am to 5pm
Participants will develop an understanding of a Personal Mission
and Servant Leadership. A panel of educators will be available
to interact with class members on issues facing education
in Reno County.

Session 4:
Thursday, February 28,
8 am to 5 pm
Participants will develop an understanding of Collaboration
in the context of Reno County Social Services.
Session 5:
Thursday, March 20,
8 am to 5 pm
Participants will develop and understanding of a "Performing
Community" and how to guide groups through difficult
times in the context of local city/county government. A panel
of local government officials will participate in a discussion
of issues facing the community.

Session 6:
Thursday, April 3,
8 am to 5 pm
Participants will be provided an overview of Economic Development
organizations and initiatives and Reno County's Economic Base
including Healthcare.
Session 7:
Thursday, April 17,
8 am to 5 pm
Participants will be provided training on Listening and will
be exposed to the importance of Agriculture and Tourism to
the County's Economic Base.

Session 8: Thursday, May 1,
8 am to 5 pm, plus evening Celebration, 5:30 to 7:30 pm
Participants will celebrate their Leadership Journey and
will publicly share their Community Projects.. |
