Media
The
Hutchinson News, a Pulitzer prize-winning daily newspaper
has strong circulation throughout central and southwestern
Kansas.
Hutchinson was the location of the first Kansas television
station and still has the CBS affiliate dual-licensed
in Wichita. The area is covered by the major networks
(NBC, ABC, FOX and PBS). Cable
service is provided by Cox Communications. Channel
7 (cable), the "Welcome Channel", offers a video
tour of the area and other local information.
Internet
service is available through a variety of providers.
Six local radio
stations provide a variety of formats including news-talk,
country, rock and public radio.
Religious
Institutions
Reno County offers nearly 100 religious
institutions including Protestant and Catholic churches
