Job Seekers Invited to 2009 Reno County Job Fair
HUTCHINSON, Kansas (February 18, 2009) - - Job seekers are invited to attend the 2009 Reno County Job Fair. This event is free of charge and will take place Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the Hutchinson Mall, 1500 East 11th Ave., from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Job Fair is sponsored by the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce, Hutchinson Community College – Business & Industry Institute, hutchareajobs.com and KANSASWORKS – Hutchinson Workforce Center.
“This job fair is open to anyone looking for employment,” said Dana Regehr, Economic Development Director, Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce. “Good companies in Reno County are still hiring and are participating in the Job Fair.”
The KansasWorks Mobile Center, an RV unit designed to deliver workforce development services, will be on site to assist employers and job seekers. The 38-foot unit will be located outside the Mall Food Court entrance, and is equipped with 11 computer stations that provide Internet access with links to the state’s public workforce system. The stations assist with the following services: online resume posting at kansasworks.com, online job searches, online applications and career counseling.
With over 20 employers registered for the event, numerous job opportunities with a wide variety of qualifications are available. Participating employers include: Advance Services, Arby’s (United States Beef Corp.), Collins Bus Corp., Dillon Food Stores, Disability Supports of the Great Plains, Edward Jones Investments, Farm Bureau Financial Services, Geotechnical Services, Inc., Golden Plains Healthcare Center, Hutchinson Community College, Hutchinson Correctional Facility, Hutchinson News, Krause Corp., Lowen Corp., Manpower Staffing Services, Mennonite Manor, Portfolio Recovery Associates, Promise Regional Medical Center, Social Security Administration, Sunrise Staffing Services, Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Team Employment, TECH, Inc., and Wesley Towers.
Job seekers are encouraged to bring resumes to the Job Fair and come prepared to interview. “Job seekers should consider this event their first impression with the company and be dressed appropriately,” said Regehr.
