Job Seekers Invited to Upcoming 2008 Reno County Job Fair

HUTCHINSON, Kansas (March 20, 2008) - - Job seekers are invited to attend the 2008 Reno County Job Fair. The event is free of charge and will take place Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Hutchinson Mall, 1500 East 11th Ave., from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. It is sponsored by the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce, Hutchinson Community College, and KANSASWORKS – Hutchinson Workforce Development Center.

The KansasWorks Mobile Center, an RV unit designed to deliver workforce development services, will be on site to assist employers and job seekers. The 38-foot facility will be outside the Mall’s Food Court entrance, and is equipped with 11 computer stations, each with Internet access with links to the state’s public workforce system and can assist with the following services:

Launched in 2007, the Mobile Center has been based in Greensburg and travels around the state to offer its services to communities and job seekers. “This mobile center will provide Reno County job seekers the opportunity to connect with services including; online resume posting at www.kansasworks.com, online job searches, online applications and career counseling,” said Dana Regehr, Economic Development Director, Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce.

 “This job fair is open to anyone looking for employment,” said Regehr. “There are many jobs with differing qualifications, specifically in the healthcare and manufacturing industries, providing job options for everyone in attendance.”

With over 30 employers registered for the event, there will be numerous job opportunities available with a wide variety of qualifications. Employers registered for the event include: Advance Services, Arnold Group, Cargill Salt, Central Christian College, City of Hutchinson, Collins Bus Corp., Data Center, Inc., Double Check Construction, Edward Jones Investments, Farm Bureau Financial Services, Friends University, Golden Plains Healthcare Center, Gregory Inc., Highlands Country Club, Hutchinson Community College, Hutchinson Correctional Facility, Hutchinson Hospital, Hutchinson News, Interim Healthcare, Krause Corp., Lowen Corp., Manpower Staffing Services, Mennonite Manor, Orscheln Farm & Home, Portfolio Recovery Associates, Reno County Sheriff's Dept., Sunflower Wind, Sunrise Staffing Services, Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Team Employment, TECH, Inc., US Cellular, Wesley Towers.

Job seekers are encouraged to bring resumes to the Job Fair and come prepared to interview. “Job seekers should consider this event their first impression with the company and be dressed appropriately,” said Regehr.
