 Fun Valley Sports Complex
a premier sports facility, Fun
Valley was named “Softball Complex
of the Year” by both U.S. Specialty Sports
Association and Softball Owners and
Directors of America. It is located
two miles west of Hutchinson.
Beginning in the spring, every weekend
through the middle of October is booked
with softball or baseball tournaments. The
complex features seven natural turf fields on 35 acres.
There is seating for 5,000 and the
complex includes a pro shop, large
concession area, air-conditioned sports
bar, upper deck mezzanine, and “state-of-the-
art” playground.
 Hobart-Detter Field
The finest natural turf field in Kansas,
this classic venue knows top-notch
baseball action. A former minor
league and semi-pro park, it has been
thoroughly renovated.
The field serves as home for the HCC
Blue Dragons, Hutchinson High School
Salthawks, Hutchinson Monarchs, and
American Legion Lysle Rishel Post 68
Colts and Cardinals. Hobart Detter is also
host site for USSSA Baseball Invitational
and state tournaments.

 Hutchinson Tennis Complex
Recently named Complex of the
Year by the Kansas District Tennis
Association, this 8-court lighted
complex at 23rd and Severance
includes a hitting wall, walkways, fences,
shelter-house, and information kiosk.
Other tennis courts in Hutchinson
are: Elmdale Park, Avenue E and Plum;
Rice Park, Swarens and Dover; and
Shadduck Park, 2nd and Van Buren;
as well as on the HCC campus and at
Hutchinson High School.
Hutchinson Sports Arena
This 7,600-seat facility was originally constructed to house the National Junior College Athletic Association men's Division I Basketball Tournament that moved here in 1949.
The Arena continues to host the tournament every March,
and is the home court for the Hutchinson Community
College Blue Dragons.

The Kansas State High School Activities Association
3A Basketball Tournament is also held at our Sports Arena.
The speacious Hutchinson Sports Arena
accommodates a wide range of events with
basketball being tops on the list.
 Gowans Stadium
A superb venue for a wide variety
of events, Gowans Stadium has
been extensively renovated and
modernized.
First and foremost it is a football
field -- home to the Blue Dragons and
to the Salthawks, state champions
the past six years.
In addition to a much needed
increase in seating capacity, the $3.5
million project included new entrance
gates, public restrooms, locker rooms,
and concession areas.
Gowans Stadium also hosts the
annual NJCAA Salt City Bowl.
 Salthawk Activity Center
A MODERN MULTI-USE FACILITY, the
Salthawk Activity Center is located at
Hutchinson High School, across the street
from the Sports Arena.
It has an indoor walking track and
function space is available for a wide variety
of events including theater, banquets,
and meetings.

Hutchinson Raceway Park
 A traditional dirt race track with
exciting action, Hutchinson Raceway
Park has races every Friday from
April through October. It is located
just south of Fun Valley.
Classes that run on the 3/8 mile
semi-banked dirt oval track include
Modifieds, Superstocks, Hornets,
Streetstocks, Quads, QRC Sprints, and
the outrageous Cruisers.
