Cabinet Connections
Jim Gruver, Owner of Cabinet Connections, located at 105 N Main has been a business in Downtown for over 20 years! Jim first purchased the business when it was located near 13th and Main. He later relocated the store to the former Brown's Shoe Fit building. Jim saw potential in Downtown with the proposed improvements and street widening and beautification plans and felt it was the right place to operate his business. Cabinet Connections specializes in custom cabinetry as well as kitchen and bath remodels. Jim Gruver is well known to many in the community for his love of cars and works as President of the Downtown Hutch Rod Run and he is also an active member of the Wiley District.
Redemption Ink Tattoo
The business opened just a few years ago at 25th and Main St. Redemption Ink recently relocated to 323 N. Main just a little over 3 months ago in order to get more visibility for his business and to be a part of Downtown. Luis Gutierrez says his relocation has been wonderful for his business. The business operates on the mission of "changing lives, one tattoo at a time". They offer piercings, Botox services and specialize in tattoo cover-ups.
Luis and his wife Melissa are not only passionate about their business, but they also rescue animals and you will oftentimes see them share their love for rescue on their Facebook page. The real story behind Redemption Ink Tattoo and the American dream of owning a small business started years ago when Luis was only 16. Luis, at 16, went to prison for a very serious crime and spent 25 years behind bars in the Hutchinson Correctional Facility. He told us he was an open book, and his book reads like an unbelievable tale of hardship, despair, a life of crime, and ultimately a second chance in life to change everything. Luis is no longer serving a life sentence. He is living his second chance as a member of our Hutchinson society. He is now one who gives back to our community daily, shares his story to help others, mentors, and believes in the American dream.
There are many stories to be told in Downtown Hutch, and this one is worth knowing. Luis's story is inspirational and he has a deep love for his community and we are so happy to have him as a part of our Downtown.

Bride to Be
Hayden Law and Theelea Stewart are the owners of Bride 2 Be, located at 23 N. Main Street. The bridal shop has occupied a few other locations before expanding and finding its new home at 23 N Main! Hayden's favorite part of being Downtown on Main Street is seeing all the young girls stop and admire the dresses in the window. One day they might be shopping for the dress of their dreams at Bride 2 Be.
This newly renovated store offers a great selection of off-the-rack dresses for the last-minute bride, Premium Bridal Brand, and catalog dresses that can be ordered. In addition to the beautiful wedding and prom gowns they carry, you can also find bridal accessories such as veils and bridal jewelry.
This mother/daughter team firmly believes that "every dress finds it's bride" and focuses on offering our community affordable options for a bride on a budget. Giving back to their community is very important to these small business owners and they really want the community to know they are here to help you find your dream dress. Bookends
Wes and Gwen Bartlett, owners of Bookends, are celebrating 9 years in Downtown Hutchinson this year. They opened on a Third Thursday to a large crowd and a great night of sales. They have been growing their store and book collections ever since.
Ironically, Wes and Gwen saw the building listed for sale while on vacation in Europe. Their dream was to own a bookstore in a restored home, having each room with a book theme. They had not considered Downtown for their store location, but once they saw the second floor at 123 N Main and its potential for residential apartments they fell in love. When they purchased the building there was no plumbing, heat, or power to the upper levels. Over the years they have lovingly restored the 1880's building, once called the European Hotel. Currently, the top floors are rented out as apartments, appropriately named the European Apartments.
High school sweethearts, Wes and Gwen were destined to be Bookstore owners in their retirement. Gwen grew up in Hutchinson working in various roles always centered around books, from Book mobiles to a school librarian for many years. Wes has a Masters in history and has always had an interest in Antique books. Over the years he has gone from maintaining the apartments to spending all his time handling the vintage books and working in the store with Gwen.
The bookstore, on the exterior, has a purposeful Tudor style reminiscent of trends of European bookstores.
No bookstore is complete without its live-in cat. Mortimer reigned over the location for many years but has recently retired. The newest fur-ball to live in the bookstore is Tabitha, a rescue. Tabitha has quite the personality and will often get into all sorts of mischief at night while the store is closed. She is always happy to greet customers and will sometimes crawl right up on your shoulder. Wes and Gwen love being shop owners in Downtown Hutchinson and the relationships they have with their loyal customers.
Reffner’s
Located at 119 N Main, this team spirit apparel store not only carries merchandise to support your favorite professional and high school sporting teams; they also offer custom embroidery services as well as screen-printing options for groups and events. The Reffner family has a long history in retail apparel and a deep history and connection to Downtown Hutchinson. In the late 60's Reffner's operated a sporting goods store at 3rd and Main in Downtown. Later they relocated to and owned the Whiteside building for over 20 years! In the 90's all of the Reffner's locations in Hutch, Wichita and Topeka closed, and a new store was opened at 14 North Main in Downtown called Classic Embroidery by Jan.
Sporting goods and apparel have always been the main thread to this family of business owners and they have had a long-standing presence Downtown. In May 2019 Reffner's reopened in the former Sport Shack location at 119 N Main. The store was remodeled and the business no longer carries a full line of sporting goods but rather focuses on team spirit apparel, tux rentals, and custom embroidery and screen-printing services.
Brian and Kathy grew up in Hutchinson and ironically met for the first time at a Super Bowl party. While Kathy's family has a deep history in owning newspapers, she easily fell into the sporting goods business and is now a well-known face on Main street. Kevin Reffner, Brian’s brother, is also part-owner and can be found at the store helping in the custom embroidery and screen-printing showroom.
When asked about why they want to own a business Downtown, Kevin spoke of his nostalgic memories of growing up here while his family-owned businesses Downtown and having a deep love and desire to see Downtown succeed. Kathy said that she loves feeling like the Downtown business owners are one big family that supports and helps each other be successful.
Long Ago Antique Mall
Paul and Tess Phillips recently opened the Long Ago Antique Mall in the former Long's location at 110 N Main. Tess is originally from Augusta, Kansas but has lived in the area since she was two. Her husband Paul moved to this area from Texas with his family around the age of ten. This dynamic duo also owns Salt City Pawn & Jewelry at 916 E 4th street, and they also are involved in real estate, flip houses and in the past few years have started to collect and restore antique cars!
With the outsourcing of her job Tess decided it was time for a change of pace. After a year of thinking it over, she decided to open her own antique mall Downtown to be close to the variety of other antique stores already operating here. She chose the old Long's location because of its open space and storefront windows. While having only been open since January, the store has expanded 4 times into new areas and is filled to capacity with every booth occupied. Stop in soon to welcome them to Downtown Hutch!
Workney's Overstocks
Daniel Wornkey is celebrating one year at his Wornkey's Overstocks location at 23 East 4th Ave. This long-time employee of the Sherriff's Department ventured into his own business offering discounted Overstock items last year in March, just as the pandemic was causing shutdowns. With the encouragement from his family (pictured here Dad, Mom and Sister-in-Law) he stuck it out and is thriving in his location Downtown.
Originally located on 30th Street, Daniel knew having his business relocate to Downtown would be great visibility and convenience for his customers. His offerings vary from home décor items to kids' toys and cleaning supplies and everything in-between. New merchandise is added weekly and every 1-2 months they go through an entire inventory change as they purchase new trucks of merchandise. How are they able to offer 35%-90% off retail? They purchase box damaged items which are brand new!
The store recently expanded in January 2021 to the neighboring storefront and there is parking available in the rear. They offer regular Facebook online auctions, spring and summer parking lot sales, and fill a bag sales where everything is just $1! Hickory Stik
Formerly the Fraese Drugs location, The Hickory Stik opened its doors on October 9th 2017 at 25 N Main Street. Aaron Bruce, owner and BBQ master offers a wide selection of meat items from their famous Stacker sandwiches, pulled pork, brisket, ribs, ham, turkey, and links to mouth-watering sides and loaded baked potatoes. The renovated space has a great local feel and a bar with an expanded beer selection.
The restaurant is a true family business for this Hutch/ Nickerson native and you will often find Aaron's kids working right alongside him serving up amazing BBQ dishes. Aaron really loves that operating a business in Downtown Hutch is like being a member of a big family. He made sure to mention how the whole town rallied around him during Covid-19 by purchasing gift cards through the Rally Reno program and it helped him survive the shutdown.

Lit Studios
Feeling creative? If you are looking for a place to explore your creativity, then plan a trip to visit Kylee Smith, owner of Lit Studios Paint & Pottery at 416 N Main Street.
Kylee's concept was created back in November of 2016 when she hosted her first paint party at her former location on 5th Street. In May 2019 she expanded her business to include a second concept called The Clay Hut by Kylee where you could create glazed pottery projects. In October of 2019 the opportunity to relocate to Main Street Downtown became available and it made perfect sense to combine the two concepts. Kylee loves the foot traffic and visibility she gets in Downtown and having the support of the Downtown Community.
Not only is this local entrepreneur a busy small business owner, she is also a mom of three and has been homeschooling since her kids were in 4th grade. She grew up in the South Hutch and Nickerson area and spent her youth painting along-side her grandmother who owned a shop in Nickerson called "The Lady that Paints". When you visit the studio on Main St, you will often-times be greeted by her furry side-kick Vinny. Be sure to give him a quick pet.
There are lots of great things happening at Lit Studios these days. They offer walk-in studio hours for pottery painting, To-Go Kits, private parties and public classes for both pottery and canvas painting, glass fusing and clay-working. Sleep Shoppe & Furniture Gallery
If there is one thing we can share about Kevin Rule it is that he is probably the most optimistic person you will ever meet. Kevin and his wife Susan relocated here from the Wichita area a little over three years ago when they purchased the Sleep Shoppe and Furniture Gallery, a business that has been a staple of Downtown for over 40 years.
The commute for Kevin is pretty easy each day, as he not only loves Downtown, he lives Downtown too! Kevin has over 30 years in the furniture and mattress business, and he has taken the Sleep Shoppe to another level with his commitment to outstanding customer service and quality merchandise.
The pandemic definitely did not slow down this business owner. He took that time to open another division of the Sleep Shoppe, called The Furniture and Mattress Clearance Center across the street which offers factory closeouts, one-of-a-kind furnishings, and mattress options.

Kevin is a self-proclaimed "leader of the fun parade" and his work atmosphere is filled with employees having fun and enjoying their jobs.

Gale Wall Photography
Looking to capture a timeless moment? Gale Wall Photography, located at 117 N Main Street has created a spot to capture your loved ones in front of the lens. Gale has operated her business Downtown since 2013, and moved to her current location when she purchased the building at 117 N. Main in 2015. Formerly a pet store and quilt store, Gale and her husband Barry gave the space an elegant refresh and transformed it into a photography studio. Services include child, family and pet portraits, as well as professional headshots and limited commercial work. Gale also creates limited edition sets with a whimsical feel a couple of times a year.
Originally from Georgia, Gale and her husband Barry moved to his hometown of Hutchinson to pursue a slower pace of life. Her husband has worked for US Salt since the 90's. Many corporate relocations through the years left them wanting to leave the big cities behind so they chose to live and work from Hutchinson.
We asked Gale about her passion for her fine arts portraits. She told us that her goal is to create heirloom portraits that are treasured and passed down over generations. We live in a very digital world and people rarely print photos like they used to and kids are growing up these days without printed photos from their childhood.
Gale and her husband fell in love with Downtown Hutch because of the great events hosted here over the years. They decided they wanted to invest in their Downtown and open the photography studio. Most recently, in 2020 they decided to purchase the Catalyst Lofts at First and Main. The Catalyst Lofts is a (3) loft residential building with (1) loft available as an extended stay unit.

Nicholaus Jewelry & Design
Traveling a little further down Main Street is Nick James, Owner of Nicholaus Jewelry and Design. Surrounded by original brick, rich wood cabinetry and sparkle; this space located at 119 S. Main has a cozy, historic feel. Nick and his wife Meredith opened their store 10 years ago this coming April 2022. Nick has a background filled with art and design, and he has always had an interest in gold and silver. He learned jewelry design from his Uncle and father and the shop uses family equipment passed down from his Uncle's jewelry store including the very bench he uses daily to create.
Nick, originally from Hutchinson, graduated from Trinity, attended HCC and then left to travel only to return to his hometown. His wife did the same and runs the shop along-side Nick giving him the time he needs to design and create.
An interesting fact during the 10 year history of the store, they once acquired jewelry from the Carey Salt Estate which included Native American items and other rare high-end pieces. The average age of the pieces was 80-110 years old. While those pieces are long gone, he did purchase one piece for his wife. He currently has one handmade French piece in his showcase that dates back to the 1830's! Nick loves modern design, but he also loves the romantic feel of these older pieces and the craftsmanship that went into creating them in a time where modern tools were not available.
Nick and his wife are so happy with their choice to be Downtown. They are very close with their neighboring shops, gathering monthly to socialize and stay connected. He recently made some additional investments in Downtown hoping to offer other entrepreneurs the chance at being a success and a part of our downtown revitalization.
Nicholaus Jewelry & Design offers repairs, custom design work, bridal sales, everyday jewelry, estate pieces, and new jewelry options. Layton45
Our Downtown is growing with locally owned small businesses. Layton45 is one of those, but she also helps other small businesses grow. Located in the Plaza Towers building at 17 E 2nd Avenue, suite 3, Layton45 joined Downtown in December of 2020. Layton45 was founded in July 2019 after a rebranding of (MSA) My Support Agents, which was in business operating over 12 years in Hutchinson.
The rebranding gave birth to Layton45 Marketing. This woman-owned small business specializes in small business marketing needs like website design, social media marketing and graphic design.
Linda Layton is originally from Council Grove, KS, but has lived in Hutchinson for 20 years. After spending several years working from home she decided she wanted to be a part of the daily buzz in Downtown Hutch and opened her office at the newly renovated Plaza Towers. Not only does she feel she is more productive working outside of her home, but she also knew that moving to Downtown would enhance the visibility of her business, and she mentioned it was just neat to be involved in and witness the growth of Downtown.
In her free time, you can find Linda and her partner Dominic at the lake enjoying kayaking and other water sports. She also enjoys spending time with her dog (golden retriever) Chief. Aleesa Bath & Body
Taking over a portion of the newly renovated Ward34 at 12 N Main, this space greets you with heavenly smells of handmade soaps and body products.
This family-owned business is named after a cousin that passed away, and the products that are made are done in her honor. With the family members' illness, it brought a new awareness for the need for all-natural products and allergy-safe options. Aleesa Soaps first opened in 2016 with their first brick & mortar location on 4th and Poplar Street. In 2018 they relocated to midtown and then claimed their spot in Downtown Hutch, opening at Ward34 on August 1oth.
After meeting at HCC Heather and Mike put down roots in Hutchinson and have two children, Lexi and Shiloh. Often you will find Lexi working at the store and she is a regular face on their social media page. The store has recently expanded its offerings beyond soaps and body products to include small gift items like purses, spa products, scented warmies, and other items for kids. Their goal was always to have a Downtown Main Street location and the timing of their new store was just right. They have really enjoyed getting involved in Downtown activities like Third Thursday, and you may just find one of them dressed up in costume greeting customers!

Westphal Jewelers
If you are looking for some bling, stop by and visit with Richard Westphal and his team at Westphal Jewelers at the corner of 2nd and Main Street! Westphal Jewelers has been a staple in Downtown Hutchinson since September of 1977. Originally from Illinois, Richard Westphal moved to Hutchinson in October of 1973 to work for a jewelry store. After working there for just four years he went on to open his own store in Downtown. According to Richard, Downtown was always where he wanted to be amongst the older historic buildings in a traditional setting.
Westphal Jewelers boasts (2) in-house certified Gemologists. Richard is the 2nd generation and Katie Bechtle is the 3rd generation continuing the family tradition in a business that they love! All of their work is done in-house, and combined they offer over 50 years of experience! Both Richard and Katie are multiple award-winning custom jewelry designers with state and national awards.
Westphal Jewelers has a full retail store offering engagement rings, wedding rings, anniversary bands, diamond necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and a full selection of colored stones and fashion jewelry in all price ranges. In addition, they also offer a range of services including free cleaning and repair estimates, appraisals for insurance and verbal appraisals, ring sizing, repairs and restoration, chain and bracelet repairs, watch repairs, and batteries & custom designs.

Levare Properties
These two faces have become very well known recently in Downtown Hutchinson! Meet Mark and Phoebe Davenport with Levare Properties! This dynamic duo has taken Hutchinson by storm by purchasing the Plaza Towers and Leon apartments, the Hoke building and most recently going under contract on the Landmark Hotel at 5th and Main.
Mark is originally from England and made his first visit to America to attend a wedding where he met his future wife, Phoebe. Phoebe is originally from a small town called Durham in New Hampshire. After meeting these two struck up a long-distance relationship for 4 years via AOL instant messenger before finally coming together in the states and getting married in 2007. They have three children ages 9,8 & 6. They currently reside in Kansas City, KS, and commute to Hutchinson once a week for meetings and to oversee the current renovations happening on multiple properties.
When asked about what they felt stands out to them about Downtown, Phoebe's comment was that she was struck by the business community and the amazing support the businesses offer each other, much like a family. Mark immediately spoke to his vision for the Plaza Towers and Leon buildings and the potential and sense of community they are creating with the renovated apartment living and the recent opening of the convenience store, Ol' Jakes which provides a great amenity for not only their residents but also the surrounding businesses Downtown. His goal is to create a sense of community in his block.

Sparks Music
Roger and Diane Sparks opened Sparks Music at 108 N Main after relocating from the Keller Music building at 5 South Main where they had been operating since 1998. Roger and Diane Sparks have been in the music business for over 54 years together! In 2011 their N Main location suffered damage from a neighboring fire and it caused them to be closed for about a year while they renovated their store. Currently, the store offers a wide selection of instruments, including multiple displays of guitars, both acoustic and electric. They carry brands such as Fender, Squier, Taylor, Martin & Co, and more! The owners of Sparks Music are currently working on a total store refresh and expanding their offerings in every department to bring in a new selection of accessories, electric drums, and symbols. In addition to musical instruments, the Sparks also offer full commercial and video/sound system installation and design for venues such as churches, schools, and auditoriums. The Sparks family also owns another Sparks Music location in Arkansas City, KS. The stores combined have a vast inventory to choose from! Their staff can work with you to find the instruments you need from either location. As a part of the Hutchinson store refresh, they are actively looking to hire a new store manager.
The owners of Sparks Music are Downtown people, operating both their businesses in a Downtown location, where they feel it the heart of the city. They love being a part of Downtown Hutchinson because of the daily interactions with their customers. Frameography
Stephanie Rhorer, owner purchased the business from Frank's Frame Shop and opened her doors on January 1, 2018. As a custom frame store they offer services like canvas stretching, shadow boxes, custom mat cutting and frames, print services and they have a small retail area of photo frames and small gifts, some made by local artists. Stepping inside you are greeted by a large selection of frame options, as well as a gallery wall of local artwork. This area is often a feature for Third Thursday events where local artists will showcase their work.
Stephanie is originally from Hutchinson, attended Hutch high as well as Hutchinson Community college. Her hobbies and love all center around framing and she gets to do what she loves everyday. Stephanie chose to open her business Downtown because she loves the neighborhood feel and her relationships with her fellow business owners and the way they support each other on a daily basis.

Board & Brush
Board & Brush franchise owners Danny & Sara Nowlan are originally from Hutchinson. Danny graduated from Haven and Sara from Central Christian School. They moved to Virginia while Danny was in the army for 7 years but moved back to Hutchinson 6 years ago to be closer to family and home. They both attended HCC and Sara attended Sidney's Hair School. Danny and Sara met in fifth grade, they officially started dating on Christmas break of 1997 and later married and now have three kids 16, 14 and 12.
Board & Brush opened its doors on March 13, 2021, at 115 S Main. We asked Sara why she would choose to open a creative studio in Hutchinson. "I'm a hairdresser and due to an injury I couldn't do hair full time anymore and I was looking for another creative outlet that I could do. They went and visited family in Indiana where her sister-in-law manages a Board & Brush franchise. They went and visited their store with their kids and loved the idea of everyone being able to do a project and get a professional quality sign.
What makes Board & Brush unique? They offer over 400 project designs. Their most popular workshops are (PYP) pick your project workshops, everyone can do a different project and choose something they really like. They offer wood decor, doormats, benches, planters, cornhole boards, and other backyard games. They also have a liquor license so they can offer different drink options.
When asked what their favorite thing about Downtown Hutch is, they say they love the local vibe, community, and how much downtown is growing. We chose to bring our business to downtown for the local atmosphere, foot traffic, and Third Thursday!

Sew In 2 Quilts
Karna Lackey is the owner, operator of Sew In 2 Quilts located in the former Cottonwood Quilts location at 126 N Main. Sew In 2 Quilts opened in April of 2019 after a refresh of the store's interior space. When you enter this creative space you are surrounded by beautiful color, from the walls to the bolts of rainbow fabrics lining them. This store not only carries fabric, they also have widebucks, siser vinyl for cricut and silhouette users and all the tools you need to become a quilter, including classes!
The second floor of Sew In 2 quilts is currently under renovation for classroom space to offer quilting, sewing, beginners and kids classes too! Their Club Q meets once a month. Open to beginners or the experienced, this group meets for demonstrations, show & share, technique lessons, and an update on new products available in the store and in the marketplace. The store also offers a Quilting Queen membership which is $15 per year to join and offers 15% off all regular price items throughout the store!
Every year the @CentralKsQuiltShopHop hosts a Quilt Hop. There are (10) quilt shops participating in this annual event where you obtain and get a passport stamped at each location you visit during the event. Fill your passport and you are entered to win a great prize. There are featured sales at each location. This event takes place from September 30th - October 9th this year and more information can be found on their Facebook page at @CentralKsQuiltShopHop.
Karna is a Hutchinson native and a Buhler grad. She has worked at DCI for 37.5 years and is retiring to work at her quilting store full-time. Splinters-N-Rust
Janice Richardson, owner of Selwyn Marketing, LLC and Splinters-N-Rust DIY Workshop recently re-opened her creative studio and relocated her marketing company in March of this year to a new, larger, location between Westphal Jewelers and Bookends.
Janice, originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, relocated to Hutchinson with her husband Jon in 2014. Here, they expanded their family and have two children, Nolan, eight and Everly, six. Selwyn Marketing, LLC created in 2012 was a joint effort with her husband Jon, and focuses on social media management and website design for small businesses. Splinters-N-Rust was created in 2016 as a creative outlet for a stay-at-home mom with small children. The Splinters-N-Rust business has expanded year-over-year to where it is today, offering private and public art classes including Pinterest-inspired wood home décor items and Fine Arts courses. Stepping inside this creative space you are greeted by an expansive mural wall with the Love Hutch logo, and a 14 foot windmill and grain bin which tie into the company logo. Most days you are greeted by her greyhound, Abi, who holds reign on the big velvet sofa in the retail area of the shop and is happy to accept all pets from visitors.
This busy mom of two runs both businesses from this location and Selwyn Marketing serves many neighboring Downtown small businesses. When asked about running two businesses, Richardson says she finds creative joy in both digital art and hands-on creativity. She holds a BA in Studio Art degree from Greensboro College in Greensboro, NC. "It is exciting to finally be using my art degree to bring another creative option to Downtown Hutchinson, but to also help my fellow small businesses by offering social media management and website design. I enjoy putting into practice what I did to build my own small business for others. It is important to me to be involved in my community and for me that means sharing my talents and helping my fellow businesses succeed in making Downtown Hutch a destination".

Slade and Adam, business partners, met many years ago while working for different employers. Their work friendship resulted in the creation of their own businesses, Dynamic Renovations, and Dynamic Electronics & Distributing.
Dynamic Electronics & Distributing also located at 114 W Sherman relocated from its 300 South Main location after outgrowing their space. Dynamic Electronics offers high-end electronic components & services. They specialize in data cable installation, termination & testing. They can assist with your network, cameras, door access, specialized cables and battery needs. They mainly sell to local schools, contractors, and maintenance technicians, but Slade mentioned that he is great at finding just about anything for people and heads up their distribution side of the business.
Dynamic Renovations, LLC is a property management company offering renovated space for lease. They started out focused on the residential market, but quickly transitioned to commercial space when the housing market changed. Currently they have available office space rentals at the 114 W Sherman location as well as a conference room rental with accessible kitchen space. Sugartime Confections
Malynda Jarrett with Sugartime Confections at 29 South Main Street. Her bakery decor is themed based off of Melynda's memories from her childhood visits to an ice cream shop in Branson, MO. She wanted to create a spot for people to create memories just like she did as a kid growing up! The red, white and black checkered motif sends you back in time to the good ole days!
Malynda was born and raised in Hutchinson, attended HCC and then Wichita State Barton School of Business. She spent 15 years in HR management before deciding to make a life change and spend her time being a small business owner and creating Sugartime Confections. She opened the bakery on July 4th, 2017. Malynda says she finds peace in baking and after spending several years baking and decorating cookies for friends, she was led to opening her own storefront on Main Street.
Most recently she renovated the neighboring space in order to expand her offerings, which include a sandwich counter made from a restored VW van where she creates her lunch offerings: crapes, panini sandwiches, soups, salads and a variety of Boba teas all in a newly expanded seating area for dining-in.
In addition to her famous cookies, she also decorates cakes, offers classes on cake & cookie decorating, hosts birthday parties and team building events. Coming soon look for a cold soup menu as well as breakfast offering on Saturday mornings.

The Wool Market & DIY School
Today we take you to The Wool Market & DIY School located at 420 N Main Street in Downtown Hutchinson! The Wool Market opened its doors in August of 2018. The DIY School is owned by Steve Snook and Andrea Springer. Steve is a Kansas City native and attended Kansas State University. Andrea came to Kansas in 1984 and later moved here in 1988. Andrea attended Goshen College in Indiana. The building located at 420 N Main used to be the Johnson Music Center before Andrea and Steve purchased it and started their renovations. The store today is a beautiful wide-open airy space filled with all colors imaginable in fiber. Because of the size of their building they have really been able to be flexible and host various events, offer classes, as well as rent out space for events to the public. They offer classes for students of all skills, including a jump-start class where you purchase your materials from The Wool Market and they give you one hour of FREE instruction. Learn how to knit, crochet, needle felt and more! There are also Open Table groups! Open Table times are for all ages and are always FREE! The schedule is: Tuesday -1 to 3 pm and Thursday - 6 to 8 pm. Their retail space offers supplies for knitters, crocheters, notions, local consignment items, cross stitch and felting supplies.

Main Street, this boutique is your stop for trendy, comfortable stretchy clothing from xxs-3xl! Let us introduce you to Jacqueline Thomas owner of Addie Rose Clothing.
Jacqueline, her husband and two children relocated to the Hutchinson area from Reno Nevada last Spring, in search of a vibrant small town to raise their children. They have family in this area that relocated here from California. They visited and fell in love with Hutchinson and its small town feel.
Jacqueline has been operating her business online for six years. Last year she opened a storefront on Main Street to offer styling appointments and open shopping-hour events. Her price-point is $35-$55, offering limited prints and new styles every week! But, the majority of her business takes place on social media. She has a Facebook page where she has LIVE product modeling and sales, a Facebook Group where you can catch her blog posts and styling tips, as well as Instagram and a new tiktok account. Jacqueline also offers gift cards, personal styling appointments for events just to help you with putting outfits together.

When we asked Jacqueline why she chose to be in Downtown Hutch, she said she loves the nostalgic feel of our Downtown and the special feeling you get when you walk up and down Main and can window shop. Current storefront hours are Friday and Saturday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Diamondback Creations
Owners Michelle Hawkins and Peter Rate have been back in Hutchinson for about a year now and opened their brick-and-mortar location in September to grow their online Native American jewelry business.
Peter grew up on the reservation and was adopted as a child. He grew up in Hutchinson, later moving to California and most recently, Arizona. His partner Michelle is originally from Abilene, Kansas and attended Bishop Carroll in Wichita. She has been working in the healthcare field.
