The Hutchinson Reno County Chamber of Commerce and Greater Hutch are pleased to announce the location of a new business in Hutchinson, Kansas.  Almont Studios of Boston, MA, has selected 10,000 sq.ft. of space in the Hutchinson Mall to manufacture the iC4K technology platform and create custom individualized content for users with cognitive impairment and anxiety concerns.

This project was the direct result of Hutch Rising investor and Chamber member Dianne Blick, local real estate professional, and a collaboration of partners across the community.  Blick said, "The work this company is doing in conjunction with Dr. Forbes at Wesley Towers seems to be potentially ground breaking in the science of managing cognitive decline and it is happening right here in Hutchinson.  Further, this story is a win-win-win example of community leaders working together to serve newcomers.  Mr. Green contacted my real estate practice to inquire about space.  I spent time getting to know him, understand his needs and after looking at multiple available commercial properties, I invited him to a Chamber After Hours function as my guest and introduced him to several business leaders, including Debra Teufel, Chamber President & CEO.  Teufel in turn connected with another member and it occurred that a leased space at the Mall might be a good solution.  This plays right into the need to alternative source Mall space.  Within 24 hours, we had this company situated thanks to many people from the Chamber to the City to the Mall working together."

According to G. Almont Green, President of Almont Studios, "It has been a joy collaborating with extraordinary doctors and other professionals from Hutchinson and Wichita. We have brought our interactive technology developed in Boston to Kansas to improve the quality of life for my mother and people like her with anxiety and cognitive issues.”

"This project was exciting to be a part of from the very beginning and a huge win-win for the community.  It's just another example that through partnerships with our healthcare community, Mall ownership, local real estate community, and responsiveness from the City of Hutchinson staff, we have partnered to win new business investment in Hutchinson and Reno County.  I see Hutchinson reinventing itself as a hub for entrepreneurship and innovative new technology based businesses", said Teufel.  "This is the perfect type of niche opportunity that we want to supplement the ever growing healthcare service and retirement services cluster that exist in Hutchinson."
