Cooper Tire, which was started by Bub Cooper, has been a family owned and operated business for 68 years.  The business expanded in 1982 to include the alignment shop, and then in 1988 the Pratt location was purchased.

At Cooper Tire they believe in customer service, which means they listen to the customer and are honest about their needs.  They don’t try to do everything, but what they do, they do exceptionally well. They are also one of the few tire shops in the area that service the agricultural market.

Inventory and employees continue to be their two biggest challenges.  Not many years ago a few sizes of tires would fit 70% of the vehicles that came in the door.  Today, almost every vehicle has a different size tire.  Labor is also always in demand.  It is challenging to keep the right number of people employed when the workload always fluctuates, but at Cooper Tire they pride themselves on keeping their staff employed year-round, even during the slow times.

Cooper Tire has excellent health insurance, paid vacation and sick days for their employees.   They continually encourage their employees and treat everyone like family because to them, they are family.  They recently had an employ retire after 46 years with the company and his dad also worked for Cooper Tire.

Cooper Tire is a long time Chamber member.   The late Dick Cooper was very involved in the community, serving on a number of local boards, including the Comosphere.  They are strong supporters of youth programs, including the Reno County 4-H Livestock Sale and Boy Scouts.  They also support the United Way, as well as the NJCAA DI Basketball Tournament that is held in Hutchinson each year.

At Cooper Tire they have a reputation for customer service, as they strive to continually change and adapt to their customer’s and their needs.

Thank you for all you do for our community!
