There are many ways to get involved with the Hutch Chamber. With a variety of volunteer and network building opportunities, there is something for every interest and schedule. Committee Opportunities

Joining one of the Hutch Chamber’s many committees is a great way to connect to other business leaders in the community.  Many of our committees are open to any interested Chamber member, while other committees are appointed by the organization’s leadership to oversee a specialized issue or project.  Interested in one of the volunteer opportunities listed below? Agri-Business Committee

  • Chair: Curt Davis, Kuhn Krause
  • Get Involved: Email Belinda McClanahan to get involved in this committee!
  • Open Membership: Committed to raising public awareness of the impact agriculture has on the Reno County economy, this committee works to strengthen urban/rural relations, address farm issues and recognize the importance of area farmers and agribusinesses.

Ambassadors

  • Chair: J.C. Petitjean, First National Bank
  • Get Involved:  Email Marcy Kauffman to get involved in this committee!
  • Open Membership: The Ambassadors serve as the Chamber's welcoming committee and volunteer sales force. Ambassadors attend ribbon cuttings and grand openings and help recruit new chamber members.

Small Business Council

  • Chair: Scott Meggers, Scott's Professional Landscape/Outdoor Powersports

  • Open Membership: The Small Business Council works to increase public awareness of the role small business plays in the local economy by coordinating the monthly Small Business Award. Committed to assisting small business, members of the Council also call on and interview small businesses each month to determine how the Chamber can better serve them.

The Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce and The Hutchinson News partner to present the Small Business Award to a deserving business each month during a Chamber Membership Breakfast or Lunch. Requirements for consideration of the monthly Small Business Award are: chamber membership, in business for at least three years, and employs 40 or fewer people. The Small Business Award is sponsored by Allen Samuels, Eagle Communications, Express Employment Professionals, Envista Credit Union, First National Bank, Heartland Credit Union, Hutchincon Clinic, and Provalue Insurance.


Public Policy Committee

  • Chair: Jackson Swearer, StartUp Hutch

  • Appointed Membership: Serving as the Chamber's lobbying group, the Public Policy Committee monitors state and federal legislative issues affecting the local business community and recommends the Chamber's annual Legislative Agenda to the Board of Directors.

Market Hutchinson

  • Chair: Michele McCartney, Cosmosphere

  • Open Membership: The Market Hutchinson committee coordinates the Chamber/CVB community marketing program in order to increase consumer traffic by promoting our retail, medical facilities, tourist attractions and special events.

Visit Hutch Advisory Board

  • Chair: Nate McClanahan, Kansas State Fair

  • Appointed Membership: This committee advises Visit Hutch on issues concerning the local travel/tourism industry, and is made up of representatives from attractions, hotels, retail, restaurants and businesses-at-large.

Tourism Coalition

  • Chair: Troy Robinson, Smallville Con

  • Open Membership: The purpose of the Tourism Coalition is to be more inclusive of all the local entities that deal directly with our visitors, with information-sharing the primary goal of the monthly gatherings.

Downtown Coalition

  • Open Membership: The purpose of the Downtown Coalition is to unite all downtown businesses and organizations to work together toward improving and strengthening Downtown Hutchinson.
