The Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present the March Small Business Award to Critter Cleaners owned by Terri Foulk.

In 1993, Terri Foulk agreed to help a friend launch a dog grooming business. What she thought would be a two-week favor turned into a 31-year journey. After managing the business for years, Terri officially purchased Critter Cleaners in 2006, turning what started as a simple act of helping into her life’s work.

Since then, she has grown the business with care and intention. In 2015, Terri expanded into a new location on Sherman Avenue, doubling her space and adding a large, secure backyard where dogs can run and play before their grooming appointments — something truly unique in Reno County. Today, she leads a team of four full-time employees and serves a loyal client base that often books appointments months in advance.

For Terri, success isn’t measured in growth alone. It’s found in the quiet moments — like helping a nervous or fearful dog learn to trust, relax, and even enjoy the grooming process. That patience and compassion are what truly set Critter Cleaners apart.

Like many small businesses, Terri faced challenges during COVID-19 when she was forced to temporarily close. Through the Rally Reno program, she was able to keep her bills paid during an uncertain time, and she remains a proud and grateful member of our Chamber.

Terri also believes strongly in giving back, regularly supporting local fundraisers and organizations throughout Hutchinson and Reno County, especially the ones that benefit dogs.

For her, success is simple: wagging tails and happy owners. And after more than three decades, it’s clear she has created something truly special — not just a business, but a place where pets are treated like family and their parents are at ease knowing they are having the best day at the spa.
