Public Restroom Company announced today they will purchase the building at 714 Corey Road in Hutchinson, Kansas. The Public Restroom Company is a family-owned and operated growing national design/build business specializing in restroom buildings for parks. The new facility will allow the company to meet existing demands of the rapidly growing market. The plant in Hutchinson will primarily serve the Midwest and the eastern part of the United States.

“Prior to our selection of Hutchison, Kansas, we brought in the national real estate firm of Cushman-Wakefield to search for available 50,000 square foot plants and above where labor needs for our firm could be met,” stated Chuck Kaufman, Founder and President of Public Restroom Company.  “The final site met our needs and our search of the available workforce encouraged us. With our excellent recruitment retention package of benefits all paid for employees and 50% of their family costs and competitive wages, we look forward to bringing our family business to your community.”

“For the past several months, Greater Hutch, the economic development division of the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce, worked in concert with the Kansas Department of Commerce, City of Hutchinson, and Reno County to help attract Public Restroom Company to Hutchinson,” stated Debra Teufel, President/CEO of the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber. “We are excited to secure another economic development win for Reno County, with a company that will create quality new jobs.”

The company was seeking an existing location for expansion that would allow them the logistical advantage of a central location with excellent access to broaden their customer base, as well as a strong workforce.  ”Our training programs in the construction trades at Hutchinson Career and Technical Education Academy and Hutchinson Community College were instrumental selling points when Public Restroom Company officials visited Hutchinson for site visits in December and again in February,” stated Teufel.

Economic development has been a top priority for the Chamber, carried out by Greater Hutch staff, as they focus on bringing new investment and jobs to Hutchinson and Reno County.  “We appreciate the teamwork of our City, County and State partners to bring resources to bear that will lead to the creation of over 50 new jobs. Long range projections include growth to potentially 75 jobs at this location,” said Teufel.

"We want to thank Public Restroom Company for their new investment here in Kansas," said Governor Jeff Colyer. "The addition of up to 75 new jobs over a 5 year period and $2.5 million in new capital investment will be great for the Hutchinson economy and a boost for our entire state."

The building that was purchased is currently leased short term by Siemens Gamesa, and the Chamber will be working with Siemens Gamesa officials on an alternative location for the goods currently warehoused. Hiring depends on Public Restroom Company’s access to the facility scheduled for August 2019.
