Pulmonology, a medical term describing all respiratory issues, is an essential specialty area and in 2019, Hutchinson Regional Medical Center (HRMC) will step up treatment options with the additional of two Pulmonologists to the hospital staff. Pulmonologists treat patients affected by conditions of the chest, particularly pneumonia, asthma, tuberculosis, emphysema, and complicated chest infections.

Joining the Hutch Regional staff are:

--Dr. Tariq Musa, who is board certified in Internal Medicine and trained in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Missouri at Columbia. Dr. Musa completed his Internal Medicine residency at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, New Jersey.

---Dr. Mohammed Al-Halawani is board certified in Internal Medicine and Sleep Medicine and was trained in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the State University of New York Downstate Health Science Center in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Al-Halawani completed a Sleep Medicine Fellowship at the Yale-New Haven Hospital at the Yale University School of Medicine.

Dr. Musa’s first day on the job will be in July 2019 and Dr. Al-Halawani arrives a month later. These two medical practitioners with impeccable credentials will complement service already provided by Dr. Robert Sourk who has served this area for more than two decades.

We are excited that these two outstanding physicians have chosen Hutch Regional to practice. Drs. Al-Halawani and Musa will hit the ground running and provide excellent service to our patients and community.
