The Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the February 2018 Small Business Award recipient is Jim Davis of Realty Executives 4 Results.

Realty Executives 4Results, Inc. opened for business on January 2, 1998. Jim Davis, founder and president of Realty Executives, first received his real estate broker's license in 1984. Between his first year as a broker and founding Realty Executives, Jim worked with in two different real estate franchise environments that were beneficial for building his career, but Jim saw opportunities and needs in the local real estate market that were not being met. He acquired the Realty Executives franchise in 1997.

Jim purchased the former ReMax International office at 111 East 30th in Hutchinson and remodeled the building for the 1998 opening. His business location has not changed in 20 years. In 2002, Realty Executives merged with Premier Properties owned by Jim and Barb Nickels. Jim Nickels is currently the designated broker with Realty Executives and Barb is one of Realty Executives’ top agents.

In 2008, he opened the property management division and currently manages approximately 120 rental units. Continuing to diversify, Realty Executives took over management of a rural subdivision and a storage facility over the next few years.

Jim describes Realty Executives as a "full service, boutique, real estate company." Realty Executives offers services that include residential, commercial, multi-family, and land sales; subdivision development; real estate auction services; new home construction; real estate investment guidance; residential property management and maintenance; and self-storage management. Realty Executives also maintains a General Contractor license with the City of Hutchinson.

Innovation has also been a key to their success. Jim introduced the team approach to real estate when he hired his first assistant in 1990. Carrying many residential listings at the same time, Jim had to come up with a way to hold more than one open house on Sunday afternoons - he introduced open houses at two times from 12:30 to 2:00pm and 2:30 to 4:00pm each Sunday. Recently Realty Executives installed a large digital sign board which has high visibility on busy 30th Avenue and a message that changes every 8 seconds. Most recently Realty Executives introduced Matterport© high definition virtual tours to this area for many of its listings.

Real estate is a serious business. Homes are generally the single largest investment of a family. They carefully screen each prospective new agent or employee in search of the qualities, personality, temperament, and desire to make each opportunity to help our clients and customers meet their real estate goals a successful experience.  They provide extensive training and mentoring for each new employee and agent.

But they’ve also found that it is important to balance the demands of real estate with opportunities to have fun. Breaking up home tours with coffee shop breaks, enjoying a margarita night, and Christmas parties with all the agents and staff are just a few of the things they do to relax and enjoy each other’s company.

Jim believes a large part of their success is employee retention. They have had one employee with them for almost 18 years, another for 17 years, another in their 16th year.
Realty Executives has been regular contributors to United Way, Boys & Girls Club, TECH, Radio Kansas, Hutchinson Community College Endowment Association and their agents have served in many leadership roles within their churches and not-for-profit community.

Realty Executives have been a chamber member for 20 years. We congratulate Jim Davis and his team and thank you for all you do for our community.
