Joe McGuire Agency Receives Small Business Award
Wednesday, February 16, 2022
A family-owned Hutchinson staple since the early 1900s, Joe McGuire insurance has been around for over a century. Joe McGuire Sr. merged his agency with the Bert Berry agency in 1936. The Berry agency was first started in 1911. In 1987, Joe McGuire took over the agency for his father. Dave Inskeep went to work for the agency in 1999 and eventually purchased the business in 2012. Over the years the McGuire agency has acquired several other insurance agencies to become the successful company it is today.
Joe McGuire is an independent insurance agency that represents multiple insurance carriers. Having access to more than one carrier allows them the opportunity to provide their customers with the best coverage for the most cost-effective premium.
Dave worked for the agency for thirteen years before purchasing the business from Joe McGuire in 2012. The transition from sales and service to management was a learning experience, however, he had great mentorship from both his predecessor, Joe McGuire, and his father, David Inskeep, who is a retired commercial loan officer. Between the two of them, there was very little they had not seen.
Joe McGuire is a long-standing company in Hutchinson that was founded on constant service, and even though some of the faces have changed, they still strive to live up to the standards set by those who came before them. At Joe McGuire, they provide a good wage coupled with health insurance fully paid by the agency, as well as a fully paid life insurance and benefits plan for each employee.
Knowing the importance of giving back to the community, Dave has volunteered many hours on various boards and participated in task forces with missions to promote entrepreneurism, strong fiscal policy, and young professional organizations. His daughter, who recently joined the agency, is a member of YP Reno County and Young Agents of Kansas.
Thank you, Dave, for all you do for our community.
