Discover Downtown Hutchinson

Downtown Hutchinson is the center for community events, unique shops and services, and casual and upscale dining and entertainment. Public investment has redeveloped the streetscape from 5th Avenue to Avenue C, with additional improvements being made from Seventh Avenue south to Carey Park. These improvements will include public green spaces, a river walk, amphitheater, water spray park and many other beautiful park areas.

Our Downtown has one of the state’s largest owner-operated antique districts, many of which are housed in buildings with architecture dating back to the late 1800’s. Specialty items include home decor, collectibles, and furniture. Along with the Antique District, many other locally owned shops and restaurants add to this lively atmosphere. It is also home to working artists, musicians, dancers and venues featuring local and nationally known artists and murals. And while in season, you’ll find fruits and vegetables, bakery items and other homemade items at the Hutchinson Farmers Market.

Downtown living is popular with a mix of affordable and market-rate housing, including loft apartments and the newly renovated Wiley Plaza apartments. For evening entertainment, treat yourself to a performance at Hutchinson’s Historic Fox Theatre, Stage 9, Family Community Theater or the ever popular monthly Third Thursday activities.
